This is my rewording of information/fact i have gathered from my book - to be used in the zine   Garlic  (037) done Folklore/Fact : One old superstition is that a bullfighter (matador) will wear a garlic clove around his neck for protection prior to the fight starting. Dreaming of garlic is seen as good fortune however to dream of giving garlic away is seen as bad luck. A wreath of garlic placed outside of a house's door will help worn of witches and vampires. A traveler will wear a clove on a string around their neck for protection. It is believed that sailors should carry garlic on board to protect themselves against shipwreck. Thai Ginger  (045) done Folklore/Fact : Carrying or wearing Thai ginger will foster your psychic abilities, it will also pull good luck to you. These are some notes and original proposal. Exploring the world with a twist For my FMP, i want to explore our world and create a twist, this being from the way I draw/paint it (extra, details, adding patterns...) or by creating my own fantasy world inspired by the world with live in as well as games, books and other forms of media. I am hoping to explore the world we live in, looking at both 'normal' elements (things that look like they are from earth) as well as elements of our world that don't look real, look like they from a different planet or are magical looking. I will use these research elements to twist into something new or as refencing in creating something new. I would also like to see if I can add symbolism into this, maybe creating new plants by combining existing ones. From this they new plants will also have a meaning. I think will also be interesting to make my own symbols, or simple language inspired by our own magic (such as making own sigils, using exist...

For my FMP I want to explore different elements of the natural world, having a focus on plants/mushrooms but am open to expanding into other elements such as landscapes and animals/bugs/insects. I want to work with illustrations, painting and maybe prints, using a mixture of materials to add layers and texture to 'flat' work. I would like to make a long term collection, making art throughout this whole project that can go towards the final one, this can be one large one or many mini ones that become one (e.g. spending a week working on mini collection, such as focus on folklore and the next week being herbalism) In terms of my concept for this, there is mutiple ways i can go down, but i want them all to have some magical/fantasy twist to it, being by the way they are created. One way I can explore this is looking at the world in a fully make believe way, like we are looking at the world through a lens, or creating new plants.
