This is my rewording of information/fact i have gathered from my book - to be used in the zine

Folklore/Fact :
One old superstition is that a bullfighter (matador) will wear a garlic clove around his neck for protection prior to the fight starting.
Dreaming of garlic is seen as good fortune however to dream of giving garlic away is seen as bad luck.
A wreath of garlic placed outside of a house's door will help worn of witches and vampires.
A traveler will wear a clove on a string around their neck for protection.
It is believed that sailors should carry garlic on board to protect themselves against shipwreck.

For protection of your home and to being good fortune, carve protection and good luck symbols into a length of viable bamboo before planting it. Plant the bamboo in the ground close to the house and nurture it to grow.

One superstition of the carrot is that, is someone finds and pick up a carrot from the ground, and brings it into their home, their mother will die.
A second superstition is that a woman who is true to herself, when she plants carrots into her garden they will thrive.

In England, it was once believed that having too much lettuce growing in your garden would cause sterility within the household, providing an overly effective form of contraceptive.
A love divination with lettuce is to write your love interest name into the soil before planting some lettuce seed. If these seeds begin to sprout, love will grow between yourself and your love interest.

A love divination for an apple, is cutting an apple in half and then counting and examining the visible seeds. An odd number of seeds means the you will remain unmarried in the near future, while an even number of seeds means that you will soon be married. One seed being cut in half means that the relationship will be volatile, while two being cut means widowhood is in the future.

During the waning mood, take an apple and cute it into 3 pieces and rub each piece where there is illness, before you bury the pieces. This is done for healing.
