Artists who works with stamps February 2024 Guy Gee https://guygee.com/collections/terence-stamps?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA0PuuBhBsEiwAS7fsNbZUmWWkGfv08_K1ciE4UxlxAD73F64qgjWb0xKSjU4iK-6cfABynxoCVgYQAvD_BwE Gee has curated a selection of stamps from around the world, with his chosen stamps he has enlarged them and digitally worked into them to later be printed of, creating large scaled versions of these stamps. I like the use of playing with scale, making something that is small larger then it is, something i would like to do in my work. I also like the use of purpose changing, a stamp being used to communicate around the world but enlarging it gets rid of that use and turn it into a decorative piece. The same with stamp collectors, the stamps have served the purpose of being used to communicate and is that collected to viewed at.  Gary Hogben https://gary-hogben.pixels.com/collections/stamp+collages Hogben has created a collection using stamps in a collage sense. I lik...

Tudor Rose 28th February 2024 Today I spent some time looking at images of the Tudor Rose and changing elements that i feel like fit my style more, this has been mostly adding more details into the flower. I plan to do some large mix media illustrations of the Tudor Rose in a stamp format. I was inspired by the work of Guy Gee (who crates large prints of stamps), and wanted to experiment with a larger scale, as well as way to do something i don't do often. I would like to experiment with also doing digital illustrious of the Tudor rose, to work at a bigger scale in a easier way, with doing a digital line drawing of this flower, i will have the ability to laser cut it onto some wood. I have not use laser cuts in my work  before and find it to be an interesting way to experiment with my subjects of stamps, wood being a similar material to what stamps are made from but in a more durable and thicker way.

Sketchbook doodles 27th February 2024 This morning I did some small sketchbook sketches of some of the mushrooms I picked out from my book. I chose to do this as a starting point on reducing the number of wildlife elements i chose to turn into stamps. By doing some quick sketches of them, i can visual which ones i want to use more easily, based on how they would look if i drew them over a photo. This also helped me reduce the ones i struggle drawing and the ones i don't enjoy drawing, making sure that i stick with strong visuals as well as still enjoying the process of making them.

Metal Stamps 26th February 2024 Today I did some small experiments with texts, using some old newspaper printing letters and relief inks to print FTGU. I enjoyed this however the ink did not work the best, i would like to experiment with some rubber stamps and a ink block.

Paper making Pt.2 22 February 2024 The pulp I used today was a mixture of the left over blended  and unblended from yesterday, having an extra 24hours in soak. I didn't notice much difference in this batch then yersdays, minus some of the thicker pages was more broken down. However the watercolour paper stayed together alot more then the rest, a bit less then yesterday.  Today I went down to the basements again to make more paper. This time I had a bucket of just the paper pulp and a bucket of some water, with this I moved small amounts of the pulp into the water so I can have it more watery then my first attempts, but more paper then the later attempt. Doing it this way also means I have more control over it, it also makes it easier to add other elements into the paper without having to commit to the whole batch.  I did some experiments with differnt papers, I started with adding nothing to the pulp, as a practice on my technique for making the paper. My second batch, I ...
