Tudor Rose
28th February 2024
Today I spent some time looking at images of the Tudor Rose and changing elements that i feel like fit my style more, this has been mostly adding more details into the flower. I plan to do some large mix media illustrations of the Tudor Rose in a stamp format. I was inspired by the work of Guy Gee (who crates large prints of stamps), and wanted to experiment with a larger scale, as well as way to do something i don't do often.
I would like to experiment with also doing digital illustrious of the Tudor rose, to work at a bigger scale in a easier way, with doing a digital line drawing of this flower, i will have the ability to laser cut it onto some wood. I have not use laser cuts in my work before and find it to be an interesting way to experiment with my subjects of stamps, wood being a similar material to what stamps are made from but in a more durable and thicker way.
