Research
These are some artists i found while doing research for the extended pieces of writing. These are some artist i found to look into for the Castle project because they work with a similar way i plan too or cause i found inspiration from them. There us a large range of different elements that i found will be useful as i don't fully know what i what i want to do.
Jim Hodges - Changing things
Jim Hodges - Ghosts
This is another one of his works that i like (this is the one that was in the book). I like this one due to it delicacy, the plant being made from glass. This remines me of a real flower called a skeleton flower, as well as skeleton leaves (when a leaf decays and only leave the vine area, giving a skeleton/ghost like effect). I like how this is displayed, being in a glass jar. This could be one way i display my 3D work.Maria Roosen - Washed tree flour
I wanted to look at her work, specifically these pieces, as they are magical looking mushrooms. As one of the ways i wanted to go for this, was to make the natural world more magical looking, this seems like a good artist who has also done this. Another things i like about this work is that it looks like metal, while it is made from glass/mirror. I also like how she used a real tree along with her mushrooms, making it look more like a real thing growing then something made up.
Hans peter Feldmann - One pound strawberries
I wanted to look at is work as i like the idea of doing mutiple of the same thing, but them all being different. I also like the way he displayed this work, doing some of them in a grid and some more randomly. I wanted to keep him in mind for is i was to do a collection of small illustrations, having some idea on how i could display them.
Jan de Vliegher - Floral plates
I wanted to look as this collection as one of the routes i wanted to go down was creating ceramic plates, as well as some of the works i was looking at from the Castle where of plates with natural elements. I like his work as he has not created plates but have instead created paintings of plates that then have the floral design on. I like this way of working, not having to deal with issues with kilns and other ceramic related things.
Joana Vasconcelos - Giallina
I wanted to look at her work as it used a mix of lace and the natural world, like what i want to work with for this project. I like how she instead using lace as a cover on top of taxidermy, creating a interacted, delicate skin to the animals. This lace skin, kinda makes it harder for you to see what animal it is, working as a form of camaflas. She has done this for other animals such as frogs and crabs.
Yang Jiechang - Underground flowers

I wanted to look at her work as I enjoy the use of bones and floral patterns. This reminds me of when i used to draw a lot of skulls as well as my interest in the natural world and patterns. Along with this i also like the way she has displayed her work, being like it is in a natural history museum. Something that i would like to look at for my project.
