  January 2024 Looking into book desgins, both destailed and simple to help make my work look more like art and less like just a documentaion. William Morris William Morris has created orinmental, detailed illusatraions that use alot of flora images. With bhis desgines he has printed boook desgines. I like the amount of detail that is in his work, as well as the movement he gets from his flowly lines of the vines. However for my work i would like to work with a more simple desgin, still having some elements of the natural world. Kisses (Victorian Book) I looked at this kids book for the simple boarders that are seen on each page, them all being the same design, however  each spread is a differnt colour from the lass, having 3 colours seen in the book.  Illuminated Manuscripes I like both the more detailed desgins and the more geomatic ones that is show in this book.   Samples + Boarders 16th January 2024 On Tuesday I did a small book sample with some paper i would like to use to test the strength , this paper is 120/150gsm. I also experimented with adding boarders to the page to add a more handmade and artistic look to it.  In my  experiment I  did a small sewing one, I  like the idea of this but would like to do some more experiments, pre sticking the image down and using a straight needle over the rounded one, i also want to experiment with colours and the stitch lines.  For the boarders i want to have 2-3 designs , a more simple one for the lace pieces , one for the lino printed on fabric and another for the images, i like the idea of more flora designed  for the photo pieces to add more interest  and also bring in the lace design  to those pages.
